LG’s smartphone division has continued its poor run at the smartphone division, with a lack of new products in its portfolio. Though the company has put efforts into devices like the LG G8X ThinQ that sports a dual display, the damage on its user base have already been done.
Moreover, the Korean OEMs tendency in upgrading its phone has been consistently slow throughout the years and there are still a lot of phones in the pipeline that is awaiting the Android 10 update or even, the latest security patch.
However, if we go by the latest development, there is one confirmed report of the LG V40 ThinQ picking up the March update. As per our sources, the update also packs VoWiFi (WiFi calling), screen recording and Digital Wellbeing feature as well for the LG V40 ThinQ.
It is currently live for users in India. Earlier, the LG V40 ThinQ has picked up the March update (different build) for the Verizon variant, but that was a purely incremental update.
Now talking about the March OTA, it weighs in around 709.53 MB in size and arrives with the version number V20d. You can check out the changelog of the update below:
– Phone usability and functionality has been futher improved.
– VoWiFi has been added.
Although it is always nice to run latest security patch that is available by the OEM, LG V40 ThinQ users were more excited about the Android 10 firmware update.
Moreover, if we go by the recently revealed Android 10 roadmap, LG V40 ThinQ is scheduled to get the update in Q2 of 2020 meaning that the update can hit the units anytime.
So, all the LG V40 ThinQ users can do now, is to have some patience and wait for the Android 10 update while we keep our eyes on the lookout for the same.
